Se poi hai uno xinerama con altro monitor o TV attaccato è probabile che usi una frequenza comune.

Inizialmente la frequenza è settata correttamente, ma dopo esattamente un minuto viene modificata. Hai fatto qualcosa tu (tipo disconnettere e riconnettere il monitor) o è successo in automatico?

OP usa 2 dispositivi. Uno è il CRT-0 Benq e uno e DFP-1.

Al PC è collegato solo il BenQ tramite DVI, lo fa in automatico, manualmente non tocco il monitor o simile, e lo accendo prima della partenza del BIOS

Puoi postare una screen di nvidia-settings, nella quale vengono elencati i display connessi? Perchè inizialmente setta la frequenza giusta identificando il monitor come DFP-0, ma successivamente gli imposta quella sbagliata identificandolo come DVI-I-0.

Non capisco perchè vada a rilevare una seconda volta il monitor, assegnandogli il nome secondo la nomenclatura per-output. Come workaround, prova a modificare questa riga del file di configurazione

Ho anche notato che adesso se imposto la frequenza manualmente dopo un po' (non lo fa sempre, solo a volte) reimposta 120Hz senza che io faccia nulla

I successivi rilevamenti sono avvenuti prima dopo 20 secondi, e poi dopo due minuti. Non c'è proprio alcun evento legato al monitor che ti venga in mente sia avvenuto in quegli istanti.

Appena avviato il DE ho impostato manualmente i 60Hz, penso possa essere quello. Non mi viene in mente altro tranne il passaggio da LightDM a Cinnamon.
